Who is it suitable for?
We recommend Laser Pigmentation Removal for clients with fairer skin (Types 1, 2 and 3 on the Fitzpatrick Scale) with freckles, dark spots or patches of skin pigmentation on their face or body.
How many treatments is best?
You’ll see an improvement after 1 treatment, but a minimum programme of 3 – 6 treatments is recommended. For best value and results, our Skin Programmes combine in-clinic treatments with at-home skincare.
How much does it cost?

Does it hurt?
Rest assured: Laser Pigmentation Removal isn’t painful. The concentrated heat from the laser can create a warm prickly sensation which some people say is uncomfortable but not distressing. Any post-treatment discomfort usually settles within 2 to 4 hours.
How long between treatments?
In most cases, we recommend a programme of treatments spaced four weeks apart.
What can I expect after?
Laser freckle removal and pigmentation removal procedures require very little downtime. Any sensitivity or warmth usually resolves within 2 – 4 hours. In the 48 hours following treatment, it’s normal for pigmentation to appear darker than before and to continue darkening. After that, scabs or crusts will develop over the treated areas before shedding naturally. Within 14 days, healing is complete and your fantastic new skin is revealed.
How does it work?

Much like Laser Hair Removal, the targeted laser beam is attracted to the melanin in the pigmented area. The pigmented skin absorbs the laser energy, which effectively shatters the pigment into tiny fragments, without damaging any of the surrounding tissue.

These fragments of pigment are then drawn to the surface where they begin to flake off and fade away. Initially, the treated area will appear darker and the colour may continue to deepen for 48 hours. Don’t worry – this is all part of the process.

Within 14 days of treatment, the skin fully recovers, resulting in a clearer and more even complexion.

Can Laser Pigmentation Removal be performed on all skin types?

Our methods are safe for both men and women with fairer skin (Types 1 – 3 on the Fitzpatrick Scale). For darker skin (Types 4 – 6), we recommend a range of other skin treatments such as our peels and light therapy.

What should I expect after my treatment? Will I need time off?

The good news is that Laser Freckle Removal and Pigmentation Removal have very minimal downtime, and any effects can be easily managed so you can carry on with life – and work – as normal.
Immediately after the treatment, you may experience some mild discomfort and redness which usually settles within a couple of hours. Post-treatment, the pigmentation will appear darker than before and may deepen in colour for 48 hours. A crust or scab will eventually form and gradually flake away.
This process can take up to 14 days. During this time, Red Cover BB Cream can be used to help camouflage the treated areas. After this time, your skin will look more even and refreshed.

What are the side effects?

The treatment area may feel a little hot (like a mild sunburn) in the hours after the procedure. Later, crusts or scabs will form over the targeted freckles, age spots or sun spots – but these soon drop off naturally. Just remember to avoid sun exposure before and after laser pigmentation treatments.
