Frequently asked questions

What do I need to do to prepare for my laser hair removal appointment?

Before your appointment, we ask that you shave the area between 12 - 24 hours before your treatment. Avoid chemical peels or laser resurfacing. Exfoliate to remove any dead skin build up, ensure no residue or fake tan is present on the skin, avoid excessive sun exposure on the treated areas two weeks prior (including solariums and tanning drugs). Avoid using topical creams/moisturisers, perfumes to the areas being treated before your appointment. Do not wax or pluck the hairs four weeks prior to laser treatment.

How often do I need to get laser hair removal?

Depending on your hair, skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require 4-6 week intervals. Each part of the body has different hair growing cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment. However, at least 10 treatments are required for a permanent result.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

One of the benefits of ;laser hair removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling and heat sensation. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. Our advanced cooling machines in all laser treatments cool your skin before, during and post treatment to minimise any discomfort.

What do I do after my treatments?

Avoid shaving for 3 days post treatment, any heat applied to the treated areas including hot showers, spas, saunas, excessive exercise (excessive sweating and body temperature rise), chlorinated pools, fake tan application for 3 days or until the heat response has completely subsided. We recommend you to apply post laser gel to the treated areas morning and night for the 3 - 5 days which will accelerate the healing process and reduce heat in the skin.

Why do we need to use aftercare products?

This includes our skin and laser treatments and can even be applied to cosmetic injections. For example, our cosmedical aftercare has specific ingredients which cutting edge technology to give you prolonged treatments results, whilst helping heal the skin post treatment.
